Since September 2006, I am Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV)
in Tarragona (Spain). I am also a Marie Curie Research Fellow (European Commission).

I studied Mechanical Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and a PhD in Fluid mechanics at Imperial College London. Recently, I spent 18 months working as a postdoctoral scholar with Prof. Gharib group at  the California Institute of Technology.

I use experimental techniques in fluid and solid mechanics to study all types of bluff body wakes and fluid-structure interaction problems. My research interests are:

  • Flow-induced vibrations with emphasis in vortex-induced vibrations (VIV).
  • Bluff body flows and vortex flows
  • Experimental methods in fluid and solid mechanics
  • Data analysis techniques
  • Loading on offshore/marine structures.
  • Inverse methods (FEM) in solid mechanics
  • Optical measurement techniques
